Be Epic with Your Nutrition: Eat your Greens

Everyone who is on a quest to improve their nutritional habits understands the value of cruciferous vegetables and the healing benefits these “superfoods” provide. You’ve probably already seen the grocery store aisles filling up with products advertising “8 servings of greens” in one scoop, green protein bars, vegetable potato chips, and the list could go on and on. I love this commercial awakening that is making these types of options available. However, mindful purchasing is required, because labels can be deceiving and you want the best quality of products in your body, your temple. You also need a plan for how you will incorporate these foods into your daily life.

Let’s cover some basics first. What are cruciferous vegetables? I love how Wikipedia explains what cruciferous vegetables are:

Cruciferous vegetables are vegetables of the family Brassicaceae (also called Cruciferae). So all of that in fancy language, is the same thing you heard when you were growing up, “Eat your greens!” This truth becomes even more paramount for the person living in a toxic body. Not only do you need to eat your greens but you need to eat MORE greens than you would naturally have a desire to consume. Your body is screaming out for a more alkaline environment that allows your cells to improve their ability to absorb nutrients that are key to your survival.

When working with my clients in The Womb Sauna I have to constantly reinforce to women that they are not eating enough of these foods. I have women who think that eating 2 salads that are about the equivalent of 4 servings is sufficient. It is not.  Our soils do not have enough nutrients, many of our foods are genetically modified and sprayed with chemicals that can harm the womb of our bodies, the womb of our minds, and the womb of our spirits. We must shift our consciousness around where we get our food, what we will accept as quality food, and not eating only for pleasure but allowing food to be our medicine, AND  a medicine that we do enjoy. Cruciferous foods are high vibrational foods that support your personal growth and optimal functioning.

The reality is that many women with womb issues like fibroids, infertility, PCOS, endometriosis, are already dealing with intense emotional and physical blockages. I get that and that’s another critical reason why increasing one’s intake of these foods will even improve your emotional health as well. To start creating a tangible, measurable, impact on one’s health, you should be consuming 9-14 servings of cruciferous vegetables per day. It may sound intimidating but I’m going to give you a few shortcuts to get you there. You are powerful enough to heal yourself and this is part of the journey. You can do it! By getting this amount of cruciferous foods in your body daily you will reap the following health benefits:

  • The release and reduction of abnormal growths in your womb and your body
  • The nourishment of your endocrine system promoting a healthy hormonal environment
  • A stronger immune system that can repel cancers, viruses, bacteria, and more
  • Greater energy, weight release, and better management of stress
  • Improved digestion and the reduction of inflammation in the body
  • Mood stabilization and reduction of PMS, depression, and anger
  • Improved menses and hormonal communication
  • Stronger organs and healthier cells and functioning

So I know what you are thinking. I want all of that! And you can have all of that with a system in place that will help you get there. We are in a time where convenience is important. I want you to have a convenient method of getting your 9-14 servings of cruciferous vegetables per day. A serving size is a handful. If you have a big bin of salad, you grab 2 or 3 handfuls and plate them, that’s equivalent to 2-3 servings. If you are juicing kale, and you have 4 handfuls of kale that you place in your juicer, that is equivalent to 4 servings.

Here is a basic system you can get started with to help you achieve your goals:
